Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today paid a courtesy call on The Honourable Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 39^th Asia-Pacific Roundtable in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Their discussions focused on the implementation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, adopted under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, as well as on follow-up to the outcomes of the 48^th ASEAN Summit, in the Philippines. They exchanged views on regional and international developments, underscoring the importance of maintaining ASEAN Centrality and Unity, strengthening regional resilience, and advancing ASEAN Community-building efforts amid emerging challenges and opportunities. They further reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring that ASEAN remains cohesive, responsive, and forward-looking in an evolving geopolitical and strategic landscape.
