Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines. The meeting marked their first bilateral engagement following His Royal Highness’ appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs in June of this year. They exchanged views on key regional and global developments as well as ASEAN’s priorities in advancing ASEAN Community-building. They reaffirmed the importance of ASEAN unity, resilience, and Centrality, and underscored the ASEAN Secretariat’s continued readiness to support Brunei Darussalam and all ASEAN Member States in advancing ASEAN’s shared priorities.
