Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today officiated the 3rd ASEAN Think Tanks Summit (ATTS) at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, in Jakarta. In his keynote remarks, Dr. Kao highlighted the important role played by think tanks and academia in the regional policymaking process. As ASEAN looks ahead to its 60th anniversary and advances the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, Dr. Kao underscored the important contribution of the region’s think tank community in helping ASEAN anticipate change, strengthen resilience and navigate its future. Finally, Dr. Kao applauded the Singapore Institute for International Affairs (SIIA) which spearheaded the organisation of ATTS on behalf of ASEAN-ISIS Network, an entity associated with ASEAN.
