1. The 4th ASEAN-United States Summit was held on 8 September 2016 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Thongloun SISOULITH, Prime Minister of Lao PDR. The Meeting was attended by all Heads of State/Government of ASEAN Member States and the Honourable Barack Obama, President of the United States of America. The Secretary-General of ASEAN was also in attendance.

2. We, Heads of State/Government of ASEAN and the United States, had a positive and wide-ranging discussion on strengthening ASEAN-United States relations as well as a productive exchange of views on regional and global issues of common concern.
