Ambassador of Qatar to ASEAN, Ahmed Bin Jassim Mohammed Ali Al-Hamar, presented his Letter of Credence to Secretary-General of ASEAN Le Luong Minh at the ASEAN Secretariat yesterday. During the meeting with Secretary-General Minh following the presentation of his Letter of Credence, Ambassador Al-Hamar expressed his country’s interests in promoting cooperative relationship with ASEAN and ASEAN Member States, recognising ASEAN as an important organisation with well-respected and strategic roles in the region and beyond.

In congratulating Ambassador Al-Hamar on his assumption of duty as Qatar’s second Ambassador to ASEAN, Secretary-General Minh welcomed Ambassador Al-Hamar’s remarks on furthering relations in areas of mutual interests.

Both sides also exchanged views on the relations between ASEAN and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
