- ASEAN Member States (AMS) and the Russian Federation met on 16 September 2022 for the Eleventh AEM-Russia Consultation. The Consultation was co-chaired by H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, Cambodia and H.E. Vladimir Ilyichev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, the Russian Federation.
- The Meeting noted that, according to the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the two-way trade between ASEAN and Russia amounted to USD 20.0 billion, increasing by 27.3 per cent year from 2020. According to the estimates of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the bilateral foreign direct investment (FDI) amounted to USD 1.7 billion. The Meeting also noted that, according to the ASEAN Statistics, Russia is ASEAN’s ninth largest trading partner and source of FDI among ASEAN Dialogue Partners in 2021.
