- The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the European Union (EU) convened the 24th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting on 2 February 2024 in Brussels, Belgium. The Meeting was co-chaired by the Philippine Secretary for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Enrique Manalo, as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations, and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, H.E. Josep Borrell. The Meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers from ASEAN and EU Member States, as well as the ASEAN Secretariat and the European Commission, and Timor-Leste as an ASEAN Observer.
- We, the Foreign Ministers of ASEAN and the EU, and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, reaffirmed the shared values and common interests that underpin forty-seven (47) years of ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations and noted with satisfaction the comprehensive and multifaceted nature of our dynamic partnership. We commended the good progress on the implementation of the ASEAN-EU Plan of Action (2023-2027) and noted the implementation of the Joint Leaders’ Statement adopted at the ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit which took place in Brussels on 14 December 2022.
