1. We, the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Council Ministers and Heads of Delegation of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam gathered together on 3 October 2018 in Singapore, for the 20th ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Council (ASCC) Meeting, under the chairmanship of the Republic of Singapore.
2. We extended our full support to Singapore’s 2018 ASEAN Chairmanship. We noted with appreciation deliverables relevant to ASCC under Singapore’s Chairmanship to build stronger resilience and foster an innovative spirit in ASEAN such as the Singapore-ASEAN Youth Fund, ASEAN Youth Fellowship programme, Framework to Minimise the Harmful Effects of Fake News and the ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN).

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
