- The 28th DGICM and Its Related Meetings were held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from 12-14 August 2025. The 28th DGICM was chaired by Mr. Haji Azmi bin Haji Abdul Rahim, Acting Director of the Department of Immigration and National Registration, Ministry of Home Affairs, Brunei Darussalam, and attended by the Heads of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of all ASEAN Member States as well as representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat. Timor-Leste attended as Observer.
- The DGICM is an annual meeting of the Heads of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the ASEAN Member States to discuss, coordinate and enhance regional cooperation on border management, immigration and consular matters. The DGICM chairmanship is rotated among the ASEAN Member States in alphabetical order.
