Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, this morning delivered Opening Remarks at the ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ Retreat in Melaka, Malaysia. In his Remarks, Dr. Kao underscored the region’s priorities of sustainability, inclusivity, and resilience, while highlighting the transformative role of AI, innovation, smart tourism and digital payments. He also called for stronger cross-sectoral linkages and connectivity as well as easing entry requirements to attract more travellers into the region.
