In a pre-recorded message for the U.S.–ASEAN Connect Series, held on the sidelines of the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, highlighted ASEAN’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the United States in building a trusted digital economy and resilient supply chains. In his remarks, Dr. Kao highlighted the conclusion of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) and the upgrade of the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) as key milestones for ASEAN, paving the way for a future-ready and mutually beneficial ASEAN–U.S. Partnership.
