Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn today delivered the S.T. Lee Distinguished Lecture at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (NUS). The event was chaired by Professor Li Ka Shing in Economics and Dean at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Professor Danny Quah, and was attended by students, academics, visiting scholars, and members of the diplomatic corp of Singapore, among others.  Dr. Kao’s lecture was mainly focused on ‘ASEAN’s Role in the Evolving Regional Architecture.’ In his speech, Dr. Kao underscored ASEAN’s role as a centripetal force in the region, bringing together various players in an inclusive manner and in the spirit of cooperation. He highlighted that ASEAN Centrality and ASEAN-led mechanisms have enabled ASEAN to shape the regional strategic environment.
