Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Dr Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, on the sidelines of the Commemorative Summit for the 50th ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation today in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn congratulated H.E. Dr Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara on his recent appointment and highlighted Thailand’s important contributions in leading ASEAN’s efforts to advance partnership for sustainability, as well as its commitment in promoting the effective implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the ASEAN region. Both sides also discussed the work of ASEAN, including ways to advance ASEAN Community-building and to achieve the objectives of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and beyond.
