Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with President of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Professor Tetsuya Watanabe, at the ASEAN Secretariat/ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta.
The meeting discussed ongoing collaboration between ASEAN and ERIA, and followed up on discussions held during the 57th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ (AEM) Meeting and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in September 2025.
During the meeting, SG Dr. Kao expressed his appreciation for ERIA’s continued and constructive support for ASEAN’s economic integration agenda and reaffirmed ASEAN’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with ERIA in advancing the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and its accompanying Strategic Plans.
