Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with the Vice Minister for International Affairs of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan, H.E. Takehiko Matsuo, on 19 December 2024, in Kyoto, Japan. During their meeting, they discussed ways to boost trade and investment between ASEAN and Japan, including the implementation of ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement as well as other economic cooperation initiatives that would strengthen the ASEAN – Japan economic relations.
