At the invitation of H.E. General Vilay Lakhamphong, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Security and the AMMTC Leader of Lao PDR, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn will lead the ASEAN Secretariat’s Delegation to participate in the 18th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) and its Related Meetings, hosted by Lao PDR as AMMTC Chair for 2024, which will take place in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on 27-29 August 2024. During his stay in Vientiane, Dr. Kao will take the opportunity to meet bilaterally with Ministers and Heads of Delegation from ASEAN and Dialogue Partners countries attending the 18th AMMTC and its Related Meetings, to discuss and exchange views on the ongoing efforts of law enforcement, particularly in coming up with most practical and effective solutions to combat transnational crime.
