We, the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF), recognizing the urgent need to address the harmful practice of crop burning in the ASEAN region and its adverse impacts on the environment, socio-economic conditions, public health, and sustainability, hereby declare our commitment to taking decisive action in the following key areas:


1. Strengthening Policy Framework and Monitoring

 

We affirm our commitment to strengthening the policy framework and implementation mechanisms to effectively monitor and observe instances of crop burning. This includes enhancing policy standards, increasing monitoring capabilities, and incentivizing sustainable agriculture to deter and prevent further crop burning practices.
