The 18^th Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Council Working Group (ACCWG) on Timor-Leste’s Membership in ASEAN was convened today in Kuala Lumpur, the first under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. The Meeting reviewed the progress made by Timor-Leste in implementing the Roadmap for Timor-Leste’s Full Membership in ASEAN, focusing on the fulfilment of the criteria and the ongoing support extended by ASEAN Member States and external partners through capacity-building initiatives, which are pivotal to facilitating Timor-Leste’s eventual admission as a full Member State of ASEAN. Timor-Leste also attended the Meeting as Observer.
