Vientiane Statement on Equity, Access and Environment: Advancing Climate Resilience in Early Childhood Settings in ASEAN

We, the Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), namely Brunei Darussalam, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, the Republic of Union of Myanmar, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam gathered for the ASEAN Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Forum in Vientiane, Lao PDR on 15 May, 2024.
  1. We commend the leadership of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic for advancing the ECCE agenda in the region by initiating the implementation of the ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration on ECCE in Southeast Asia (2023) (hereinafter referred to as “Declaration) as Chair of ASEAN under the theme “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience”.
