Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today delivered remarks at the Jakarta Forum 2026, held in commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the ASEAN–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat. 

Under the theme “Towards a More Robust and Productive ASEAN–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to the Greater Benefit of the Region and the World,” the Forum brought together stakeholders from governments, academia, think tanks, businesses, and international organisations to exchange views on the achievements and future direction of ASEAN–China relations. In his remarks, SG Dr. Kao underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation under the ASEAN–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and ensuring that ASEAN–China cooperation remains a force for peace, prosperity, resilience, and sustainable development for the benefit of both sides, the region and the world.
